Guests can now enjoy freshly cooked burgers, breakfast, wings and many other tasty options.
Langford, BC, May 18, 2019 – Fatburger fans can now indulge their taste buds at the latest edition of the popular burger chain in Langford’s newly constructed Belmont Market. The newest shopping destination in Southern Vancouver Island, this development is located in the heart of Langford’s downtown. The centre is anchored by Thrifty Foods and Scotiabank.
For more than a decade, Fatburger has been one of Canada’s fast-growing and most popular burger chains acclaimed for serving up award-winning burgers, as well as Buffalo’s™ world-famous wings and tenders, and delicious breakfasts.
“We are delighted with the positive response Fatburger has received on Vancouver Island and look forward to serving guests at our new Langford location under the direction of franchisees Sukhleen Singh & Mike Chahal,” said Frank Di Benedetto, CEO, president and owner of the FDF Restaurant Brandz franchise system that includes the Fatburger Canada chain.
Fatburger traces its roots back to the 1950s in Los Angeles when the word fat meant cool or hip, but the size of burgers led to the distinctive name. “The name of the store was my idea. I wanted to get across the idea of a big burger with everything on it . . . a meal in itself,” said Fatburger founder Lovie Yancey.
In keeping with the Fatburger tradition, the new 45-seat location will feature an open kitchen, allowing guests to order at the counter and enjoy watching their meals being cooked-to-order. Convenient take-out service will also be available.
What makes Fatburger so special? Premium ingredients. Each and every burger starts with fresh, never frozen Alberta Angus beef. No additives, binders or fillers. Fatburgers can be enjoyed with all the usual condiments, plus many inspired choices such as maple bacon, grilled mushrooms, guacamole, pineapple, fried egg, and an assortment of cheeses. Only the freshest produce, including hand-shredded lettuce and award winning centre-cut beefsteak tomatoes, qualify to be served on a Fatburger.
Fatburger’s inspired menu doesn’t stop there. Other delicious options include chicken sandwiches made with full-sized marinated chicken breasts, veggie burgers custom-made exclusively for Fatburger, and Buffalo’s™ World Famous Wings and Tenders. For those seeking a low-carb, gluten friendly treat, Fatburger offers the option to “Lettuce Wrap” your burger or sandwich.
To complement the chain’s burger selections and other entrees are its “best anywhere” milkshakes made with premium, hand-scooped ice cream. In fact, Fatburger has six delicious flavors of shakes to choose from, plus a seasonal feature flavour.
Langford is the second Fatburger on Vancouver Island and the 54th Fatburger restaurant in Canada, with locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. Fatburger Canada is Canadian owned and operated and is proud to serve Canadian ingredients.
About Fatburger Canada
In 1947 Lovie Yancey founded Fatburger under its original name Mr. Fatburger. In 1952, Yancey shed both her business partners and the “Mr.” from the name of the hamburger stand, and Fatburger was officially born. From the beginning, Yancey was a fixture at the original Fatburger, where customers, who included entertainers such as Redd Foxx and Ray Charles, could custom-order their burgers.
In 2005, the first Fatburger Canada opened in the popular English Bay area of Vancouver, BC. And while our roots are from California, Fatburger in Canada is Canadian owned and operated – and proud of it!
Fatburger Canada is a part of FDF Brandz, headquartered in Burnaby, BC. Frank Di Benedetto is the CEO/Owner of FDF Brandz, which includes Fatburger Canada, Ricky’s Group of Family-style Restaurants, and Famoso Pizzeria. The company is actively seeking new franchisees across Canada. For more information, or to find a Fatburger near you, go to www.fatburgercanada.com.
