What are your products made of?
Our products are made from plant-based ingredients that are free of GMOs, soy, and gluten. For specific product ingredients please visit the products page.
How do you make products that look, cook and taste like animal-based meat?
We use a proprietary system that applies heating, cooling, and pressure to align plant-proteins in the same fibrous structures that you’d find in animal proteins. We combine this process with ingredients that mimic the composition of animal-based meat, like plant-based proteins, fats, and minerals. The result? Plant-based meats that look, cook, and satisfy like beef and pork.
How do you rebuild meat without genetically modifying anything?
This question gets back to the company’s basic thesis that meat’s core parts – amino acids, lipids, trace minerals, vitamins, and water – don’t have exclusive residence in the animal kingdom. We are not inventing new materials but matching the plant equivalent and assembling it in the architecture of meat. And the way we do that assembly is similar to the simple process used to make pasta – we mix our plant-based ingredients, compress the mixture, and then shape it into the final product.
Beyond Meat® looks like meat. Is it really Vegan?
Absolutely. Beyond Meat® products are Certified Vegan by Vegan Action/Vegan Awareness Foundation.
Are your products safe to consume if I have a nut allergy?
Peas are legumes. People with severe allergies to legumes like peanuts should be cautious when introducing pea protein into their diet because of the possibility of a pea allergy. Our products do not contain peanuts or tree nuts.
What are GMOS?
A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or another organism whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and virus genes that do not occur in nature through traditional cross-breeding methods.
Are your products organic?
Our products are not currently certified organic. However, all of the ingredients in our products are non-GMO, hormone-free, and food safe
What is the difference between our Veggie Burger and Beyond Meat Deluxe Burger?
Our Veggie Burger contains Soy, Beyond Meat has no Soy.
A Veggie Burger is not a “meat replacement” product. A veggie Burger is also not intended to look like beef, to have the texture of beef or to mimic the taste of beef, but the Beyond Meat burger is intended created to do those things.
